Payday 2 Launches For The Nintendo Switch

Get ready to heist on the move! Well, I mean you have to move to do the heist, but I mean in real life. It’s on a portable device now, is what I’m getting at.

After a much-anticipated wait, Starbreeze Studios and developer Overkill have announced the launch of Payday 2 for the Nintendo Switch. Now you can take the games 50+ heists and over 150 weapons on the road, stealing all of that sweet, sweet virtual cash and becoming rich and thieves. This isn’t just a port either, with rumble support and full touchscreen main menu support making navigation easier and more attune to the Switch. As well as the brand new features, Overkill has thrown in some more goodies with a brand new heister named Joy. Joy is described as a Japanese computer whiz living in the United States that comes equipped with tools for hacking and personalized weapons, and a sweet LED mask (I haven’t seen it, I’m just assuming it’s sweet because LEDs look sweet) that can change her appearance in an instant.

Another new feature coming to the Switch version will be the option for local multiplayer, through the games crime.net online system. Crime.net local will allow players to play with each other on the same network, ramping up the fun to another level… and the blame for when someone screws up.

With more than 160 paid and free updates since it’s launch in 2013, you know you’re getting a game that has been well looked after by its developers, and the 5.5 million community members are evidence of that fact.
