In a Bombshell announcement, Boss key Productions is no more.

Welp, we can’t say we are surprised, but Boss key productions will be closing its doors permanently. The Studio’s Head: Cliff Bleszinski, announced this via a tweet on 5/14/2018. This comes as no surprise, as Boss key has seemed increasingly desperate. From the mediocre hero shooter lawbreakers to the abysmal pre-alpha mess that is radical heights. The studio seemed to be chasing the trends more and more, and even though radical heights is a mess, we wish all the best to the studio and Cliff himself.

The studio was founded in 2014 with the release of Its debut game Lawbreakers 3 years later in 2017. The game received mixed reactions, with some claiming it was chasing the trend of hero shooters. The launch numbers for the game were fairly low, and the game sort of fizzled out. The next game the studio put up was a very basic battle royale game entitled “Radical Heights”. The game was seen as a cash grab and one that didn’t do particularly well, getting incredibly low sales and reviews at launch. The studio seemed to be in decline since it began, which is a shame, as there was so much talent in that studio.

Cliff claims he is leaving the studio to focus on his family more, but leaves us saying “Video games will forever be a part of who I am” and that he “hope[s] to make something in the future”. I wish him all of the best and are excited to see what he, and the boss key developers do next.
